Pros
High integrity team - Everyone I've met and worked with is a sincerely good person with good intentions. AppD only seems to hire great people. Extremely growth-oriented - From org-wide process focus to individual coaching, there's a lot of opportunity for growth. Widely Used Product - The core offering is widely used and unanimously valued—especially in the financial sector. It's good to know the work you're doing is ultimately impactful. Burgeoning User Focus - As an org with a product based in user pain points, they've spent many years focusing less on users than on putting out fires. The new product leadership is swinging the org back towards user needs with staffing and strategy which is exciting.
Cons
Inspiration - The leadership team seems more focused on stability rather than inspiration. Which makes sense but from an employee perspective, it would be energizing to to be compelled forward rather than obliged. Lack of Prioritization - There are dozens of priorities in the product org. This seems to be remedying but it makes alignment difficult. Recruiting - Given the product is specific to a very specific market, it makes appealing to talent a little more challenging—especially non-technical talent.
