Pros

Arm provides great benefits, which allow employees to just focus on how they can best contribute to the company. Great, collaborative company culture. -- Competitive salary -- Good bonuses -- "FlexPot" benefit that help reimburse kid's college tuition, pay for personal growth, etc (thousand of dollars per year) -- GREAT time-off benefits (4-5 wks vacation, 4 wk sabbatical every 4 years) -- no-hassle business travel budgets -- respect for work-life balance The company culture is very collaborative; all about "we, not I", so there are few problems with big egos. Everyone is helpful and cooperative. There isn't a significant divide between managers and employees; there is little emphasis on "hierarchy".

Cons

-- Dealing with disperse geographies (notably San Jose, Austin TX, and Cambridge England) creates challenges. Many people seem to report to someone whose office is thousands of miles away. It's not uncommon for someone in San Jose to report to a manager in Austin, who reports to someone in Austin, who reports to an executive back in San Jose. This works better for more senior people, who can work independently; new college grads need a lot more guidance so need to be co-located with their manager and others in their group. -- some work areas are being changed from cubicles into Facebook-style long work benches, due to space constraints ... although I would never want to work that way, apparently new college grads don't mind

As with any company there will always be challenges and areas for improvement. Individual team cultures can vary at times based on their leadership. However, the goal is to have a rich and fulfilling growth-oriented culture that spans across the global organization collectively and I believe Arm is well on its way to achieving this.

Pros

Great benefits (compensation, PTO, sabbatical, etc.), work-life balance, interesting projects and genuinely nice people who collectively work together to get things done. Very rare to work for a company that has such an impact on the world.

Cons

The People Team are starting to see a lot of turnover and attrition. Very good people are leaving or being dismissed due to realigning of strategies. We don't follow our own rules of opening up new roles for everyone to apply to, with upper management playing favourites to key employees and assigning new roles directly without fair competition. Also, maternity leave needs to be brought in line with the rest of the tech industry.
