Pros

Good opportunities to do some interesting work. Great people who give their best all the time under stressful conditions at times. Company is going through a growth period and appears to be making efforts to nurture it's people. Reasonable working environement. Great local community improvement schemes and charity support.

Cons

Compensation is not so competitive anymore. Bonuses are OK but not reflective of hard work put in to achieve them. Starting to feel less like an engineering company. With the constant focus on cost reductions the value of some engineering has been degraded or cast aside. In the past this work has enabled better quality products & experiences for customers. We're in danger of becoming short sighted and losing the bigger picture.

Thanks for leaving a review, and for your over 10 years of service! Like you mentioned, the company has grown quite substantially and quickly over the last few years and we do need to be cognizant of what got ARM to where it is today - the engineers. We are putting in processes in place to ensure that the company continues to grow while making the work environment an enjoyable one. In regards to compensation, the Rewards team completed a company wide analysis, and employees should now be placed in the 75% band, meaning your base salary will be higher than 75% of your peers in the relative market (location, function). Once you factor in bonuses and RSUs, the total compensation package is quite competitive. Do know that I do pass on the feedback from Glassdoor reviews to the People leadership team, which are factored in along with the ARM Employee Engagement survey to determine where we may need to address certain issues. We would love to hear your feedback again (employees can leave a review once a year) next year to see if we have improved, or still need to improve! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Pros

If you are a software engineer, a big NO, never ever think about joining ARM. Good for others

Cons

ARM is good place for non-Software peoples. Below review is for software engineers(or equivalent) at Bangalore office 1) Managers are just playing game with the global company. They have established a big team just for few simple tools so that they can relax at their will and at the same time global company will think they are doing great job. 2) Work is very monotonous which doesnt need any intellect at all and no knowledge gain over time. So, skill developement in 1 year is almost same as that will be in 10 years. 3) Strict work timing: managers dont care how hard or smart work you have done, they will just see your presence or the work timings. As there will not be any skill developement over time or there are no such work which required smart or hard work , what should be the measure of your work performance then? Its only the "work timing". 4) Software peoples have adapted the existing culture. They dont socialize much. They just complete their work timing and rush home. Also most managers dont so much productive work, they just pass time in team meetings , coffee or facebook etc. or simply "work" from home.

Thank you for leaving a review. I'm disappointed to read your review, as it is eye opening to hear some of the things you are describing from the Bangalore office. While most people think of ARM as a hardware company, in truth we are about 50% hardware and 50% software engineers. If half of the engineers at the company are not happy, we definitely would not be as successful as we are today. I will pass along this review to the relevant parties and if you do have additional feedback, please do reach out to your local HR Business Partner. Without feedback, we wouldn't know anything was wrong! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Pros

I'm working in the PDG group for less than a year. 1)Nice place to work. Colleagues are very friendly. 2)Scope to learn and work on latest technologies. 3)No overburden/extreme pressure which is seen in other companies.

Cons

Compensation is not par with market leaders. Although stock bonus compensates a little towards it, it would help a lot for the management to retain their best engineers if they increase the compensation.

Thanks for leaving a review! I'm glad to read that you're enjoying your working experience at ARM, and hope that you're able to expand your engineering skillset with the PDG team. As noted in previous review responses regarding compensation, the Rewards team completed a company wide analysis, and employees should now be placed in the 75% band, meaning your base salary will be higher than 75% of your peers in the relative market (location, function). Once you factor in bonuses and the RSUs you were granted when you join the company, as well as the PTO/time off, the total compensation package is quite competitive. For employees who perform exceptionally on the rating scale, this is reflected with a 1.25x bonus increase as well as a larger annual pay increase, which helps to retain our best engineers! -Rick C.
