Pros

Compensation seems fair, the benefits are pretty good Really nice people Exposure to a variety of new things

Cons

Always serving three masters (Avanade, Accenture, and your VP) Waste money on fancy meetings instead of investing in the business Slow to make decisions and take action Ineffective and inept middle management Fiefdoms are prominent Easy to get pigeon-holed

Pros

I have been with the company for quite some time, and found that there is a ton of opportunity to wrap your hands around. Benefits are great, the team is great. Lots of tribal knowledge and a willingness to learn from senior resources within an given technology that is supported.

Cons

Unfortunately, the current attrition rate within UCCMS group has been awful. I believe due to managements lack of leadership and communication to the group.

Pros

- Yearly "Extended Benefits" stipend for tech, learning, or services to make travel easier - Lots of smart technologists and architects to work with - Great place to beef up on .NET skills and certs for someone early in their career - Fairly easy to move to other cities - The good projects can be really good. Mission-critical internationally-deployed systems solving hard problems.

Cons

- Like any consulting gig, some of the bad projects are as bad as the good ones are good - Like any consulting gig, you're often brought onto a project that's running late, and were described to clients who actively dislike consultants as a genius who'll solve everything. - Over the years I was there, morphed from being its own unique company to merely a wing of Accenture. None of these changes were for the better. - Politics often play a role in promotion, but more importantly in staffing - Getting on a highly-visible, successful, well-regarded project is key to promotion, but you often have no say in staffing whatsoever.
