      Pros

      - You can gain great consulting experience. Avanade has many top Fortune 500 customers from which you can gain valuable customer facing consulting experience if you are fortunate enough to be staffed on the right projects. - Benefits package is above average. Pay is average. - Access to cutting edge Microsoft technology

      Cons

      - Rampant Cronyism - Top Heavy organization structure where most Directors are over paid and under deliver - Frequent layoffs that often result in the best people getting cut. - No career model. Most people stay until they get laid off or find a better salary elsewhere. - Rapid growth offshore has turned company more into a body shop than a respected consultancy

      A great company with a few big problems

      Pros

      Avanade is a great company filled with smart, hard working people. It’s also a company that knows how to build team comradely and have fun. In addition, in spite of the bellyaching to the contrary, Avanade’s compensates its technical employees well above market rates (at least in the U.S.).

      Cons

      Avanade’s big problem is that they are largely a one trick pony. The bulk of their business is application development on the .NET platform. Their infrastructure business has languished over the years. Repeated attempts to diversify their portfolio of services have been less than successful, largely because of how they are organized and how management is compensated.

      Great place for consultants who want to work with the latest Microsoft technology

      Cons

      Under-investment in internal tools and processes. Particulalry under-invested in support for the tools and technologies deployed and in training for internal employees.
