      Pros

      Avanade is an actual meritocracy--you advance in your career based on performance, not on who you know. You get to work with great people and cutting edge technology. Moreover, the culture is one of mutual teamwork and support rather than a take no prisoners petty territorialism.

      Cons

      The travel can wear you down and there is a lot of anxiety whenever you hit the bench and your hours are not billable to a client.

      Exciting start, then dissapointment

      Pros

      - interesting projects coming via Accenture and Microsoft partner network - working with smart people

      Cons

      - once you get assigned to a project you become more an employee of client than Avanade - you get disconnected from everything that is going on - you usually have a career advisor who you never met before, who sets regular calls with you but there is anything he/she can do for your career development - there is no ongoing discussion with consultants about state of your assignment at current client a) your service its extended for another year without letting you know b) you don't know if next month you will still be there - nobody asks you / propose you other interesting projects in your talent community
