Pros

- Training - Travel perks (miles or hotel points)

Cons

- Not a true meritocracy (skin color makes a BIG difference when it comes to promotion time/appraisals) - At the mercy of Accenture for most projects -Politically charged and caustic workplace environment - Lack of technical depth unlike claims to be msft experts More often than not, we goto Microsoft for help/SME support - Senior management only cares about margins and not the quality of business - Poor work-life balance (depending on project)

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback to Glassdoor. As a company of more than 35k employees, we embrace and celebrate the diversity that fuels innovation and creates a culture that is second to none. It’s clear that your experience has not lived up to the high bar we set for ourselves and I take that very seriously. Discrimination in any form is not tolerated at Avanade and I encourage you to report any unethical behavior you may have experienced or witnessed at https://www.avanade.com/en/utility/code-of-business-ethics . I would also welcome the opportunity to speak directly with you to make sure we are doing everything we can to create an environment where all our people are successful. Pros

If you're prepared to kiss the right backsides and turn up to pointless events to get involved in the "Avanade ecosystem" your level of competence is irrelevant.

Cons

As above. If you find yourself on the wrong side of management you'll be pushed to one side and left to rot until you decide to leave for the sake of your career. Avanade creates an environment where consultants are forced to compete against each other for roles, opportunities, and career progression. This is how they push staff into working incredible hours as their approach is that someone will be prepared to do this so everyone will have to do this or be left behind.

The culture you've described here is certainly not in line with our values or work culture, and I’m sorry your experience hasn’t been what you expected. I would be interested in hearing more about this issue so I can take steps to resolve it. If you're willing, please reach out to me at adam.wengert@avanade.com.

Pros

There are pockets of really great people Training is nice $2000 extended benefits allowance Benefits are competitive Access to great materials

Cons

No clear reporting structures. Easy to be overstimulated or disoriented from multiple dotted line bosses. Upon hire, you're assigned a career advisor. Typically, people take on this responsibility to help themselves jump to the next level. So basically, you sign up for something you're not necessarily passionate about to advance your career. It's a lottery on who you end up with. The work is not designed for regions to support each other. When staffing projects, you are relegated to your region which marginalizes the talent you can bring to your client. Different rules and processes across regions Direct = Avanade is not dependent on Accenture. If you are a seller pursuing indirect business, it's mostly good unless Accenture is weak in the account. In that case they will try to make their year via your hard work. Indirect = means Avanade is dependent on Accenture. If you are working in a region that relies on indirect to make their number, you will see countless bad behaviors. Don't expect support from your leadership team. Avanade will turn its head when it sees any wrongdoing. Do expect to be bullied, intimidated and undermined by Accenture. Ambiguous processes that change each time you use them. Incompetence at high levels. Exceedingly unprofessional work environment. Sadly, some of the resources have been in role since the company was born and simply don't know any better. They just know how to make the machine give them what's needed in the moment. This is why new talent is unable to last. Accenture FTEs openly treat Avanade FTEs with inferiority and this is supported or deliberately overlooked. If you don't cooperate with Accenture MDs they will try to alienate you from the account by taking you out of the loop. If you don't submit to their bidding your job will be in jeopardy. I experienced the breaking of multiple workplace laws by both Accenture and Avanade employees (i.e. racist comments, gender bias, etc.). Once of the worse places I have ever worked that has the potential to be one of the best. Avoid this place until it can clean up its model and remove some of teh baggage in leadership.
