Pros

Pay and benefits were good. BearingPoint had an underdog status when competing against bigger names in the IT consulting business, which gave the organization a scrappy culture. The leadership made many good decisions when it came to employees.

Cons

Execution of top leadership decisions by other leaders left much to be desired. Very often, employees were bullied, guilted, or otherwise actively thwarted in efforts to balance work and personal lives. There were some truly stand-out Senior Managers and Partners, but from my interactions, they seemed to be few and far between. In the trenches, the focus seemed to be far to heavy on how much we can bill clients, instead of what benefits and solutions we could provide. Perhaps it's semantics, but what a team is directed to focus on makes a big difference.

You refer to a different company, namely BearingPoint Inc. Our company, BearingPoint headquartered in Europe, has been a separate legal entity and conducted a management buyout in 2009. Its development since then is very positive, see our Annual Report: http://www.bearingpoint.com/en/about-us/annual-report/

Pros

First two weeks, before assigned to a project, learned new skills benefitting clients and colleagues and applicable to next employment.

Cons

Very controlling, conniving company management at client site.
