Pros

BearingPoint has a laid back corporate culture and its possible for people to progress rapidly if they are in a practice area where they are very visible and able to contribute.

Cons

BearingPoint isn't really one company. Its 2,000 little fiefdoms of Managing Directors. If you happen to land in a good one, and you manage to connect with your MD you'll be set.

Pros

If you're ex-military, you'll find plenty of other ex military, and the structure is very militaryesque. They like to give orders, regardless if they know what they're talking about. BearingPoint serves as a good stepping block to other firms.

Cons

If that's not the atmosphere you're looking for, it's hard. The management is often missing or bad, and you're pretty much owned by your MD. Mobility to other types of work/projects is very difficult and raises/compensation are lagging behind other firms. The whole fear atmosphere is in play here b/c there was always news that BE would be sold off. As a result, everyone was worried for themselves.

Pros

Competitive pay and leadership mentor program. In my personal experience, leadership has been very helpful. Depending on your management leader, mine personally gives me room to grow and prove my skills and ideas.

Cons

Due to the financial difficulties of the company, employees can definitely feel the negative morale and significant cost reductions. Although the economy is tough, when the CEO admits that he had to let go of many intelligent people, you start to wonder. Many systems and procedures have room for improvement. Many are not effective but pursued because of office politics.
