Pros

I love technology and it was easy for me to sell cameras to people! Your usually there to provide insight to customers who are not aware of tech and I have a gift to make it understandable.

Cons

For one your never compensated for what you sell. I outsold every single salesman yet there is no way to track numbers! They need to offer incentives for sales people because they are the ones doing the sales not the managers. Also management demands you to shove the protection plan down the throat of each customer. Yet if you get 95% success rate with protection plans you do not get rewarded! The manager does! This is backward business and it is complete BS. Best Buy stresses that the employees are not on commission so the "customer" does not feel rushed! This is complete BS because every manager is on commission. It looks good on paper now but wait in 5 years when you have a bunch of stoner's and drugy's who will only take the shady $10 an hour job.

Pros

Some reasons to work at best buy is that they have great benefits for employees. Especially to buy the products that they sell in the store it is almost dirt cheap. they also ofer health and 401k. they have a friendly atmosphere trying to create an exciting place to work.

Cons

As a parttimer, i received unreliable hours. Sometimes I would get 5-25 hours depending on how busy it got. Also expect to work after thanksgiving and during the winter holidays. It is a very corporate structure, almost like a machine like feel. To get anything done, you have to follow Standard operating procedures.

Pros

The employee discount and other job perks are pretty good, they do allow for times off that are much needed, they do try to take honest feedback from employees to make the work enviroment better, they also attempt to give you all the tools to do your job. The training is pretty good for each department, but is still lacking. Best Buy does provide great growth opportunity for those who are willing to go outside of their store to find it. Their benefits are pretty good and they're always looking to make them better. They also are now trying to become more involved with the community, which to me is a huge plus. The pay they offer is adequate for most.

Cons

There are no bonuses for sales for the sales staff, and some leadership within the store can be weak at times. The fact that they only look once or twice a year to get feedback from employees is a big negative, those lines of communication should always be open. They really push for sales considering we're not commisioned based and try to make things "grab and go" for cusomters. I think communication is really good, but it was better earlier. And the morale of others can actually drag your morale down.
