Pros

If you really work hard you have a great chance of moving up in the company. I had a friend that I worked w/ the 1st time I worked @ Best Buy that is now a GM after only 4 years. We were both computer salemen.

Cons

If your a part timer, hours will varie depending on the market.

Pros

The discount is the best part of working at Best Buy. Also, it is a friendly environment with a fun day every day. I work in PCHO part time and it is a great experience to help other people get into technology and find out about their products. Working with electronics is about the best part because I have grown up with them and didn't want to have to fix them every day, but see others enjoy their technology. I don't know of any other job that my friends have where you can play 4 square or kick ball before you start work in the monring!

Cons

Sometimes you have to work really long hours. Not having enough staff can also hurt your sales because people are sometimes impatient. Sometimes, I wish we had more time to train on some of the new products we get in. Pay could also be a bit higher, although compared to some other starter jobs this would be considered good. I wish it were easier to move up in the system as well. You don't see many management shift changes in the company. Also, rank and numbers are sometimes pushed too much on the employees. Otherwise, it is a great place to work.

Pros

Great environment, one of the very few places that you can enjoy your job. It gives me a chance to learn what i am interested in. I came from a job where i made six dollars more an hour, that i hated. Would not go back for the money, i am satasfied doing this kind of work, the people that work there are really great, at least at the best buys that i have worked at. I have traveled to different states on paid best buy events. Stayed in a nice hotel. had my meals paid for. they are really flexible with their schedule.

Cons

Inside the general public you have rotten eggs, some of them frequently visit best buy. Some people just dont understand why things are done the way they are done, and some do not want to, but thats technology i guess, people just dont understand sometimes. Like why do we not give tech support on router security setup if you buy them at our store. WELL, First, not everyone at best buy knows how, and the people that do are probable paid a little more than your average bb employee. That router you got on sale, we made maybe ten bucks on, but then minus shipping and the time it took to ship it, plus our light bill. Next, walking through some ppl on a router setup could take 45 min easy. We just lost money. But yet some people will insist that it is bad business. I think some personal responsibility for educating themselves is in order.
