- Learning about new technology - Good training on salesmanship - Good opportunities for raises and promotions

- Having to shove a credit card down everyone's throats and being scolded when you dont get every customer to get one of them to get one

Pros

Great job working in the field. Downtime while driving. Great if you love helping people. Competitive pay in the field to similar roles in other companies. I'll forever be grateful I was employed here and given this opportunity.

Cons

CEO Corie Barry is changing and ruining everything. No more bonuses based on performance. Last annual raise was a low flat rate while it is normally based on performance. (Taking away all incentive) Micromanaging is getting out of control. SELL MORE TECH SUPPORT! No more overtime allowed, but upping efficiency (more jobs in less time). Customers are more often just treating us like part of a corporation and not as people. It makes me sick to see how they're treating store employees. Somehow we made bank during COVID, but are laying people off and rehiring these same people back as seasonal.

The work itself can be gratifying. Fast paced environment makes the workday feel quick. Great coworkers and leadership at my location, your experience may vary.

Cons

Executive leadership has degraded to a bunch of bean counters. Eliminating many leadership roles and other opportunities for advancement. Giving leadership responsibilities to underpaid workers without any pay increase. Executive leadership has eliminated all bonus incentives for Geek Squad.
