Lots of perks and benefits but...

Pros

Amazing perks, and not just flights. HQ is a lovely building in a great setting, with car parking available too.

Cons

Senior management are able to treat staff badly with no repercussions, often. Makes for a lot of very unhappy teams who stay because of the perks. That results in the level of work being sub-par. But there are also some really great, supportive and knowledgeable managers.

Cheap flights. Flexible working. Low pressure. Great colleagues. Potential for a variety of interesting work. Possibility of a brighter future now that mass IT redundancies seem to have reached their limits.

Cons

IT organisation massively suffering from being treated as a cost rather than adding value. Tons of redundancies then no real plan to move forward and develop remaining staff. Career progression basically non-existent. Lack of workable technical strategy in key areas.

Pros

The benefits and reward are good, good bonuses, staff concessions and salary.

Cons

Management are promoted and rewarded solely on project delivery, meaning that line management skills, development of staff or even treating staff well was sorely lacking. This lead to toxic and demoralised environments for entire teams. Work life balance is non-existent, and staff were treated very much like resource. Worst culture of any role I’ve been in.
