Pros

Great coworkers, and colleagues Very sharp team, and focused on execution Immediate management is very capable

Cons

Senior management doesn't care about employees. And with Avago buying us, it will be even worse. For a CTO that is suppose to represent the collective engineering mindset, it's a huge discouragement when in all hands meetings, he repeatedly says we need to review our engineering staff and ensure we "curb engineering inflation. Come on, we're all engineers and not stupid. just say what you mean. You think U.S. employees are paid too much, and you want to reduce our compensation package and shift as much work overseas as possible. Calling this "curbing engineering inflation" is just insulting.

Pros

relatively higher compensation compared to peer companies

Cons

Cold, not the weather, but the people. About 2 dozen engineers were hired in 2006~2007, more than 50% left the company in 2008, either was squeezed off or laid off. Because that team was merged from a startup, in sake of their own job security, the job related engineering information is not well shared among team workers, especially to new employees. They expect the new employee cannot guess out their old things, then give the new guys underperformance in review and squeeze them off. Intense office politics and high turnover rate.

Pros

If you are the type of people, who like to be treated like toilet paper, and who like the excitement of getting laid off at any random time, then you're going to love this place.

Cons

- Almost no salary increase for promotions (why even bother promoting) - Company does not care about the morale of their employees (They are even happy when people leave, so that they can meet their attrition rate goals) - Company does not care about health and safety of their employees. (During covid-19, employees were forced to go back to office, and they were even tracked with a cellphone) - Company does not care about customers (They are only after big 500 fortune companies) - Company will try to lay off as many employees as possible in order to save as much money as they can - Company will force their software engineers to switch and use the cheapest software products in the market (even if they are awful) just to save money. Even if it affects productivity and roadmaps. - CEO and higher management do not listen to any feedback to improve morale, and business productivity.
