Pros

- No other company has the work-life balance that Canva offers. - My team members are extremely supportive, and are fun and easy to work with. I’m actually quite luckily how well we work together and how much we genuinely get along. - Lots of different perks like allowances, birthday gifts, random merchandise from the company as a whole or from the clubs you’re part of.

Cons

- Salary isn’t very competitive considering they keep telling us we’re a very profitable company and yet the employees don’t exactly feel that. At least not in the design team in Manila, not sure about the others. - Disparity in benefits among offices. Manila office receives a considerably lower yearly allowance than those in the Sydney office. I hear it’s the same for our salaries but I’m not quite sure. - No clear career and salary growth. They have this really weird rubric for the career levels as well as how to get promoted into the next levels or get a higher salary. I feel like they just made things up to avoid having to give people salary raises. A red flag on this rubric is that you apparently already have to be performing on a higher level for you to be able to actually be promoted to that level. But who would be doing more than their actual job profile in this economy? - They have started taking back benefits that were supposedly only meant to ease the effects of the pandemic, however many of us are still WFH at the moment so that doesn’t really make any sense. Include the fact that the Philippines is currently going through an economic crisis and inflation is at almost 10% now. - I honestly have a lot more to say but basically if you’re thinking of working for Canva, try to negotiate your salary as much as possible because it doesn’t get much better after.

Pros

Allowance for education and home furnituer, friendly co workers. apart from these nothing else to mention as the office is closed and all employees are working from home.

Cons

can be extremely slow and bureucratic in creating new products. hiring bar has been reduced off late. diversity initiative is questionable and seems to promote only white men and white women i.e. minorities are excluded from leadership positions. similar to white australia policy.

Pros

-WLB very good, they respect your time and don't encourage working outside of normal work hours. - Fully remote available. - Good perks for in-office employees like free food, lots of social events

Cons

- Focuses too much on culture and social events, feels a bit cult-like at times. - Depending on team, can feel isolated in your role. - Deskilling experience, siloed in your work and it's hard to branch out. - Toxic positivity, hard to give feedback honestly - A lot of people are just coasting or doing the bare minimum
