Pros
Great people, perks, flexibility, kindness, empathy. In short, everything that makes a company look good is available at Canva
Cons
1. Becoming highly bureaucratic especially in the People Group, working with people from different teams in Canva, it is only the People team that lacks leadership (even after so many changes, recently) and getting everything done is an endless process. All teams at Canva believe in MVP and in People Group it is perfection! 3. Favouritism is very clear, if the head is close to you, they will trust you (best treatment) even if you don't have the right experience but if they are not close to you (not sure what the criteria to become close is) then they wont trust you (policy based treatment) no matter how experienced you are 4. Roles and levels are only used for salary reviews and not in day to day. Even an experienced person ends up becoming a coordinator that moves projects from one table to the other begging for approvals (which is fine if it is part of the role but not all of the role) to move things along and at the performance review the expectations are for you to move mountains. How? Do you even set people up for Success? 5. Things have started going in circles - ask A for something they say get B involved. Easy, you involve B who says get C involved. Hmmm, fine you get C who says - can you take this to A and B? 6. These circles, lack of leadership and red tapes are stopping people from innovation. People have stopped sharing their ideas as they are afraid that by the time they get everyone onboard, they will forget what their idea was
