Pros

Good for early career joiners, significant benefits compared to other local companies, fairly healthy overall team culture for day-to-day interactions, hybrid work options, overseas travel opportunities for some.

Cons

- Yes man leadership - Dissent is discouraged, fostering a "yes-man" culture in leadership. - Weak management - Many upper level leaders were promoted because of tenure and have significant lack experience or training in the area they were promoted to. Low to Mid-level managers are promoted without any managerial training and has led to mediocre or poor management. Managerial support and advocacy for employees is rare, with self-preservation seeming to take priority. - Limited career growth - Few opportunities for advancement or skill development due to way the team is structured. - Below-market pay - Salaries, especially for recent hires, are not competitive. - Inconsistent performance reviews - The evaluation system is vague and applied inconsistently, with little accountability. - Layoffs - Despite revenue gains and prior promises to never have layoffs, layoffs occurred without clear, transparent communication to the global team. Individuals are paying the price for a bloated headcount or business decisions that weren't their fault. - AI expectations - Employees are expected to increase output by 30% due to AI tools while seeing that people are being laid off.

Great Benefits but Biased Aussie Managers

Pros

- Unbeatable benefits + freebies! - Great healthcare, even for dependents - Great office! Always a joy to drop by and eat with work friends. - Great team events! - The People team are great and accommodating!

Cons

- AUSTRALIANS ARE FAVORED (I will keep emphasizing this) - Rethink if you are a Filipino as Aussie management looks down on Pinoys. For example, the Aussies rarely work overtime and any overtime work is passed to Filipinos, and it's hard to justify OT pay. And pay is significantly lower in the PH team. - I've had great teammates but I will be honest and say I've worked with a LOT of lazy Aussies yet they rarely get consequences for their actions. This has been a recurring thing among me and Filipinos I know outside my team. - They value sociable people over talented people. - Not a good environment for an introvert! Performance reviews were generally lower for introverts than extroverts as part of the job requires you to "socialize". - Working overtime is the norm in my team, at least for Filipinos.
