No appreciation for employees, the vision gets lost the further down the chain you go. There are way too many politics at play. They do not value long time employees. I've seen employees who have been with the company for 40+ years transferred to another location and then the branch closes & the employee laid off. They lay off employees when they close a location, employees are encouraged to apply internally, but are rarely hired. Capital One is looking to going "digital" so they want very few branches, so that mean very few employees, so if you want a company for the long haul, avoid here! They make big promises to get you on board and then there is no follow thru. In my 4 years, I've seen so much turnover, everyone below the CEO to me has changed. I've had 5 different managers in less than 4 years.
I've seen older employees pressured and pushed out and managers advised to push older people out In favor of younger employees.
There is very little career growth. Every person above me who was hired the past 4 years was external and very few people promoted, the ones who have been promoted have been "in" with leadership.
