Pros

They are supportive about flex time and telecommuting. Paychecks arrive as scheduled.

Cons

There is no on-boarding. If you need to know about something, (f.e.; auto-deposit payroll vs. commission checks) you're expected to find it on the poorly-indexed corporate website(s). For somethings you can call HR in California. The phone staff was always friendly & the on-hold times were ok. However, even at ok, altogether it'll make for very long first days. There is no relocation assistance, so bargain hard for that signing bonus! I can only speak from my experiences, but in my opinion - Do not work for this company. Not unless you enjoy being bludgeoned out of your career by small-minded micro-managers. If you have another option, take it. I had options. And I chose Cisco! Dammit. Forewarned is forearmed.

Pros

Great Salary, Comfortable timings, Work from home options, Good Amenities and decent benefits

Cons

Not many cons really. Future scope might be low, as there are fewer hikes in salary and even further lower for promotions

Pros

Cisco emphasizes work/life balance and this is honored in all roles I've held with the exception of sales. Medical benefits are very good, 401K options are comparable to other companies. Other perks like tuition reimbursement are above average. Cisco IT is very good about maintaining the latest technologies and tools to do you job. (ie: BYOD for mobile devices and virtual office setups to support remote workers.)

Cons

I've witnessed 3 major layoffs since joining the company in 2004 and at least half a dozen re-orgs within Sales Operations. Salaries are competitive when you first join the company, but it's difficult to advance due to HR policies and bureaucracy. In my case, it has been a lack of job role hierarchy and descriptions on the part of HR that has prevented me from continuing to advance. Cisco struggles to attract millennials and the workforce is aging.
