I loved being challenged and learning new technologies. The people I worked with were like a family; everyone was always looking out for each other. The engineers I worked with were some of the most talented in the industry.

Cons

They started massive layoffs and are laying off good and critical people. They no longer care about the employees and only care about their quarterly earnings. Cisco keeps chasing innovation when they should be the innovators. They have the reputation of killing off products. Management changes every year will eventually hurt them. Just because it was successful while John Chambers was CEO doesn't mean they will be successful in the future. Always doing the same thing will not always result in success; by constantly changing management every year they are doing the SAME thing.

Depending on team, flexible work options especially remote work. Decent benefits but health benefits keep getting chipped away more and more every year. You can become a real pro at giving PowerPoint presentations. If "fun" and "culture" is learning how to play politics and reduce your conscience to,the level of betraying your mother without blinking in the name of corporate ladder climbing, then welcome to Cisco!

Cons

Favoritism, nepotism, cronyism is rampant. The People Deal employee review system is arbitrary, vague and not defined and it opens the door for management to play favorites. Survival of the fittest political player is the name of the game. No real innovation, just acquiring smaller companies now and not successfully integrating them.
