Pros

Telecommuting, good salaries, and that's about it

Cons

You will spend most of your career in meetings, performance reviews center on check-the-box accomplishments, bonus is determined by manager's influence and not your actual performance. It's a place to go to earn a paycheck, unlikely to be a culture you're proud to join.

Pros

Good pay and benefits and very flexible work from home schedules You don't have to work more than 40 hours a week

Cons

Very political and lots of back stabbing It's more important who you know and not the job you do Huge process to get anything done

Pros

Challenging environment Self motivated people can learn a lot Some peers are the best of the best Good experience for one's career Finally brought back the college new hire program.

Cons

Flagrant abuse of the H1-B program. Diverse workforce = Indian Majority Stock has been flat for 10+ years. CEO makes political statements that would only help him, not the rank and file. Below market salary with mandatory (some paid, much not) overtime. (For TAC, which they then try to count as a 'benefit' and higher base salary) Extremely flat hierarchy limits promotions to every 4-5 years for the top 10%+. If you are not a driven workaholic you will not advance. If you do not have/get your CCIE you will not advance. You will not be given time to study, but are expected to do so IN ADDITION to your 60+ hour work week. Internal CCIE resources are mostly mediocre or have giant waiting lists. Salary or cost of living adjustments are mediocre to non-existent. The best and brightest engineers tend to leave after 2 or 3 years once they figure out raises or promotions are nearly impossible and they will be paid much more elsewhere. Constant outsourcing continues to scrape off the bottom end. This is fine for a short time, but after ten plus years of this, the current bottom end is the previous mid to high end. They're scraping bone now and show no signs of stopping. Internal IT and tools are terrible, healer heal thyself.
