Pros

In my chain of leadership there was a lot of collaboration. I was often on calls or in meetings where we would discuss a client issue and the directors, VPs, managers all worked together to solve the issues. Everyone had a voice and opinions were respected. I never felt that I couldn't give an opposing view. Relaxed culture. What you would expect of a silicon valley but Cisco is big I expected they would have been more up tight. Was not the case no matter what office I visited (east, east, north or south) Had a lot of freedom to handle clients and make my own decisions. Very good leadership support - they backed me when I took hard positions or had to say no. Worked from home when not traveling.

Cons

Lots of travel, long hours, overloaded with work at times because we didn't have the staff. Had to handle a lot of things myself - would have been nice to have more admin support.

Pros

Good place for younger people and recent college grads to get a start in Networking. Competitive benefits.

Cons

Cisco has done a reset over the last 4 years, moving their compensation and benefits ranges down to match new younger employees. Not a lot of growth opportunities. Rampant racism and infighting between corporate and India operations. Lack of senior leadership, vision, direction. If you just want to get some experience on your resume, work hard and keep your head down, then you'll do ok. If you want a long term career, go somewhere else.
