Pros

Lots of room for advancement as they change the chairs around every couple years to keep it interesting for Senior Management. Interesting ideas do get listened to but you have to deal with dinos and idiots getting in the way of progress. Good vacation after 5 yrs/VP and they are doing a decent job promoting life-work balance -- though of course it saves us money to have folks working from home.

Cons

Have seen large projects disappear into thin air without recognition of why they were a waste of time to begin with. Different business lines definitely still have issues working together.

Pros

There is unlimited advancement potential in a company this large. With offices all over the world, once you have gained a little experience within the company, you can apply to transfer pretty much anywhere you might want to live. Citigroup also pays a portion of education expenses and promotes internal education courses.

Cons

Compensation and benefits are low compared with smaller companies I have worked for. Human resources is very unhelpful, and promotions often come with little or no pay increase. A good portion of pay for exempt employees is variable (bonus based), so if the company has had a bad year, you may end up making less than the prior year in any given year. Base salaries are relatively low, and you will often see only a 1 to 3 percent pay increase each year, regardless of a change in job title or addition of new responsibilities.

Pros

CitiGroup had an interesting call center that has the best facility amongst similar jobs. The benefits package is excellent but balances out with the low pay rate. The work life balance is great as a competent individual can complete his weekly work load in 40 hours or less. The Schedule is also great if you are fortunate to get a team with a morning schedule. Overall it was fun while it lasted but I could not do it for more. (total stay 1.1yrs)

Cons

There is always politics but i have never seen a place that had politics similar to a High School. Not to mention senior management treated everyone below as dumb high school students. I was a top performer for most of my stay there with limited effort. I was always told that performance gets you what you want, however at the end it was more determined on how much ass you can lick by the end of the day. To conclude i don't lick ass so I am in a better place now :-)
