Pros

Discount is good at 30%

Cons

Stress that they put onto the team leaders is awful. Ended up being signed off for 4 weeks because of it

We're sorry that you feel that you had to leave. We hope that you raised your concerns with your manager before taking the decision to leave. If you felt unable to talk to your manager we have a number of support strategies in place to provide help whenever it is needed. We partner with Grocery Aid, and they provide a range of support services that cover mental, physical and financial support. We wish you well and hope that things are improving for you now.

Pros

Because if staff turn around I would make a new friend every 2.3 weeks on average.

Cons

Middle managers are out of control. They don't believe the company rules apply to them, even though all literature including all colleague code states it does. I certainly feel that senior management are either kept in the dark or turn a blind eye. These same manager's have a pack mentality. If one of them takes a dislike to you they all try to bully and harras you. When a grievance is highlighted it is swept under the carpet. Any promotion is based on if your face fits, your a family member or a friend.

Pros

Great staff! Great discount on own brand products! Pay is good. Total hours per week are good. If you good enough to step up then you will be given a chance to prove you can do the job. Will keep you fit due to it being physically demanding!

Cons

Company runs every store on bare bones hours and demands that you can come in under budget every week. Discount on non own brand products could be better as we only get what Totem card holders get on those products. Working hours are ok if you like 6am starts and 10/11pm finishes. Working hours as a Team Leader can lead to no social life due to the above hours. During busy periods you are still expected to ensure all online delivery orders are completed in time, this can at times be horrendous as we do our own online grocery system, Deliveroo and UberEats. Physically demanding job as deliveries can be large! As a Team Leader you will be doing the bulk of the work due to staff being on tills or doing online orders.

Thank you for your feedback. Our Team Leaders work incredibly hard and deputise in the absence of the manager. It can be a fine line to balance between leading a shift and your team in the store and rolling your sleeves up to get the job done. We'll certainly pass on your feedback however in the meantime please speak to your manager about any concerns you're having with workload.
