Pros

-None I could care less about a Co op card that gives me a double discount once a month.

Cons

- All but the first manager in my first year of my 5 were manipulative bullies. - 30 minute break for 8 hours on your feet. - Taken of your break early. - favouritism. - Placed on 2-10pm shift permanently for 5 years. No compromise was made with my managers. - Threatened thousands of times by truly awful customers including a few threatening to follow me home. - Terrified to call up when you're ill because you will be guilt tripped. - Guilt tripped on your day off and told you would "let the team down" if you didn't come in to cover or do overtime. - spoken down to etc. - Can't stand still for literally a second and I'm not even joking. - Terrible organisation and general disarray in the store, stock etc. - Outdated equipmemt and scanners that consistently freeze. - Stood up on the till for 8 - 9 hours a day at a time sometimes no seats. - Bad canteen tiny and stools with no back support. - Backstabbing two faced colleagues since they're always younger adults who love to gossip. - Paid wrong for a long time given money in envelopes still not enough for the sometimed 45 hours of shifts. - The team leaders and manager, duty manager were all on power trips constantly. - Forced after a tough night in which you couldnt possibly get all the stock out on the shelves because of how busy it is to stay and finish way past 10pm. - Watched on the cameras multiple times by the manager and certain team leaders looking for a mistake. - payslip was ALWAYS wrong caused so much stress and pain to my soul I am still recovering from the debt and ill health today. Recieved multiple summons due to not being able to pay my council tax on time. Including another colleague who I liked they also recieved a summons. - Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to work for. - Destroyed my sanity and gave me anxiety as well as panic attacks.

Pros

Accsptable as a stop gap job if you don't mind working with the usually irritated public . Probably going to be one pretty near where you live so you won't have to travel far. Uniform is provided so you can look groovy at work with ya pals and not ruin your own clothes Very easy basic work doesn't require much brain energy if you are lucky enough to avoid being stuck on tills your whole shift.

Cons

don't respect the hours you are available to work and try to add you to rota on days you can't do. management don't care about staff safety at all, we had no functional security alarm on the tills for months despite being in a very busy central city location. Staff are left to be verbally abused and threatend etc by members of the public with no support or back up. Poor working conditions staff area and store back area we're always pretty grim really really poor staff training: you just click through a lot of screens on the computer and the supervisor is popping in to encourage you to click faster so you can come back and get stuck on tills some more ..so most of the colleagues you work with including yourself won't really know what their suposed to be doing . If you get a 'nice' supervisor everyone who smokes just dissapears for the whole day while you get stuck on tills again and no one ever comes to save you from the mental torture. The customers are really rude about everything because they are annoyed at coop for changing the prices everyday
