Pros

Ok pay. Also get discount.

Cons

Management team are very bias and only want certain employees on shop floor whilst other employees have to stand at the kiosk for up to 9 hours with only a 20 minute break. Even when asking to be taken off by someone else, it doesn’t happen. Management also put more effort into speaking to and training certain employees over others. Whilst working at the co op I have been told several times to follow a customer around the store in case they steal just because of the colour of their skin, which makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Unable to get any holiday days as this comes down to whoever is more liked will get that holiday, even if they have asked last. I’ve seen many of my colleagues go home crying because of the tension between the management and other employees. Horrible place to work as the hours are long and we don’t get any recognition for covering other people’s shifts and staying longer because someone else has let the management team down. E.g. working 6 days a week doing 30+ hours with no break. I have also witnessed members of management in my store say that they are only going to hire someone because they are friends with them and they won’t even bother to take notice of any of the other applications that they have received. I’ve also been on the receiving end of management shouting at me because of something that someone else has done.

Pros

If you have a problem at work, let's say for instance, you're facing discrimination or bullying at work, you can contact the head of department by email and they will arrange a face to face meeting to do what they can to help you out. They will take action quickly.

Cons

-You've to get used to the drama at work from those who've been working there for years. -You can work for years without getting a chance to move up the ladder.
