Pros

Pay is competitive, flexible hours

Cons

Store manager was horrible to work with, always trying to catch you out, rude and overall quite a nasty person. You are always expected to do overtime and work as hard as you can, which is fair enough but when you need something back then its a no straight away. Managers are never responsible for anything and are quick to find a scapegoat. Horrendous hours (late shifts 10pm onto early 7am). Dirty stores. Very bad training. Managers are not interested in if the staff are happy with the hours or not, as long as they dont have to do it they dont care. VERY bad atmosphere in the store, probably due to a very macho environment as there are about 16 males and 3 females who work there.

Pros

A reliable company to work for with a good base. Training is carried out treating you as adults and not like naughty children as some companies do. Wages of a good level for a good days work. Benefits very reasonable with company discounts and double discounts at peak times. Good equipment to work with after a revamp of transport.

Cons

I found management very weak. Not enough communication to lower levels from senior management. Some nit picking with problems instead of sitting with the work force to see where the problems lay. Personal feelings got in the way with some managers with some work force instead of keeping a level head. Transport route planning needs to have more driver in put instead of computers dictating. This brings local problems to light on access to shops and difficulties that are found. During store face lifts more could be done to aid deliveries rather than all to front of shop. Some shops delivery areas are from the dark ages with drivers struggling with wagons and taking more time and effort when a tweak here and there could prevent a lot of this. I found when management came out to experience a day in the life of a driver always went to easy shops never taking a difficult and strenuous route.
