Pros

-Staff Discount -Tasks aren't particularly hard - 95% of staff are a pleasure to work with. - Can on a rare occasion be fun.

Cons

I have worked in 2 stores. The first store I worked in I was pretty much working until 10 every night including weekends. I was constantly doing reductions and waste on my own I was never allowed any help and given an impossible list of tasks to do in a tiny amount of time. The manager was very rarely there and didn't want to know when it came to complaints. One of the team manager's had a horrendous temper screaming down the aisles infront of customers couldn't do right from wrong. I didn't hate the co-op and I didn't hate the job. I was told another store was looking for CTM's they promised me fair hours they told me I would have every other weekend off and I would have very little 6am starts and 10pm finishes. I was also under the belief I could progress relatively quickly if I worked hard enough. 8 weeks later I am working every single weekend, I have no work life balance whatsoever and the majority of my shifts end at 10pm. I am shoved on tills in a corner for the whole of my long shifts. If you are rota'd in until a certain time you will not get paid past that time. On a Saturday night the person on tills is expected to do waste, face half the store, sort out newspapers and count scratch cards by 10pm. Baring in mind Saturday nights are always busy so to finish by 10 is virtually impossible. Most nights it is 11pm when you get to leave and that's an hours unpaid work. On top of all this one of the supervisors is an outright bully. She is bullying a few other CTM's and I am the latest person she is victimizing. Apparently the manager is aware of the issue but won't do anything about it. I will be reporting her when I see him next to see if anything will be done. If I knew this I wouldn't have transferred store. I thought I had just picked a bad store but with similar problems in this store and reading other reviews I believe it's just co-op culture. Inexperienced 18 year olds seem to be able to talk their way into getting promoted only to turn into big headed bullies when they do. I don't want out of the store I want out of the company vile place to work.

Pros

Nice working environment. Management position respected. Helpful staff at all levels. Good benefits.

Cons

Regional operations management varied in standards and behaviour. Very political organisation, if your face fits then you'll go far.
