Pros

10% off in the shop if that can be considered a benefit? Takes their products from extortionate to expensive. Middle management are very good.

Cons

The executives are absolutely delusional and love to haemorrhage money. They preach about doing business "the right way" but behind closed doors they are a much different beast. Just as corrupt and immoral as the big banks. They just hide it under propaganda. The pay review strategy is unfair and there is a strong case of favouritism. The company as a whole are so LGBT friendly that they are now well in the zone of positive discrimination and you feel like the enemy if you are a white heterosexual person. The board have wasted so much money on ludicrous ventures, they have now gotten rid of hundreds of staff in exchange for outsourcing to Tata in India - but don't forget, they are a colleague driven business according to them.

Thank you very much for your feedback. All of our colleagues, including our executive team, live by our values: Do what matters most Be yourself, always Show you care Succeed together We currently have 4 colleague networks covering women, young people, LGBT and BAME colleagues. Networks are open to all colleagues even if they don't identify in those groups. Being Co-op is about creating a workplace that celebrates difference. Somewhere we all feel responsible, valued, empowered and trusted to do the right thing for each other, our members and our customers. All of our colleagues are also guided by a set of behaviors, one being 'endless inclusion' - "I am inclusive in my thoughts and actions by showing an active interest in the views, backgrounds, and ways of being of my colleagues and the wider community."

Thankyou for your review. It's good to hear that you enjoy your role and the people that you are working with. I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your area manager, if this proceed I do recommend raising these concerns through the official lines. Regarding food waste - no food goes to waste at our Co-op. Food is either donated or recycled into energy to fuel our stores. May store colleagues have built up additional relationships with local food banks, so if this is something you're passionate about I recommend you do the same. ^Catherine
