Pros

I find it very hard to find any positives, negative experiences make you stronger?!

Cons

Terrible management team, no trust or empowerment, expected to work 7 days a week as there’s no control or the correct level of expertise within the business. UTC have deskilled the work force acquiring Goodrich in 2012. The HR department is one of the worst departments I’ve come across in all of my professional career, no support, no professionalism and purely bring in friends of theirs over the correct people who are qualified for the positions. Management team lie continually and have no integrity. Above all you’d think in Aerospace quality should be paramount, unfortunately I found it to be totally the opposite, all management (from top to bottom) were interest in were sales and EBIT (profit). Really think about joining this company if you’re a qualified professional.

Pros

-Huge company, so lots of potential room to move around, both in position and geographically -Ability to purchase extra vacation time, which I feel is a big plus -Location in San Diego office is in a residential area, so it's against traffic during any rush hour, which in California is a dream

Cons

Management are often completely useless. The company has dozens of managers who have no clue what they're doing, and are only there because they've managed to stay in one place for 30 years. Random 25 year olds with no experience suddenly show up and are making double what seasoned engineers are making, overtime is basically mandatory, and they regularly lay off people by the dozens. As soon as I find another job I am out of here

Pros

Being able to work from home and avoid Covid, maybe? Also some of my coworkers are good people. Pay is OK, but not as good as at many other companies. I hear upper management make a lot of money though. And there are benefits though not great benefits, and PTO, though it is not popular to actually take time off.

Cons

Management is bad. REALLY bad. They do not communicate properly with people. I know many workers who have been blamed for mistakes in areas they hadn't even worked on. On most projects only a few people are included, the rest isolated in a corner (yes, literally a corner in many cases). You risk being told to stay away from certain areas of the project, then suddenly expected to have enormous knowledge of that particular area. There is no training on anything useful. My manager has told me since I'm salaried I can be expected to work 24/7, and he means that and actually believes people would be more productive if they worked more hours, had no life or interests outside of work, and for some odd reason, did not exercise. Almost everyone I know are looking for jobs somewhere else.
