Ugh...first, I worked hard to get to the top of my training class through learning the course material and adhering to the attendance policy, and someone at the bottom of the class is chosen as the subject matter expert?
During training we were told that our hours would start as early as 8:00 am. Great! I and others have obligations in the evening (like a second job), so we could do both jobs, but no! They changed our hours, took away shifts, and left us with 10 or 11:30 start times. Half our training class quit because of this kind of garbage.
There was a $500 reward for the employee with the best attendance, performance, etc. Only one person out of over 190 employees qualified. One?? Even then, she didn't get close to the $500 reward. It was a gift card for, like, $50.
Speaking of attendance, they are incredibly strict about it. We get two 15 minute breaks, and one 30 minute lunch break. However, we need to be back and ready to work BEFORE the break ends. That means we need an extra two minutes to log back into the computer, get the systems running, etc. In other words, they are stealing time from us.
Speaking of attendance, that is perhaps the main thing they use for grading an employee. One of my co-workers became violently ill and went to the hospital while she was working, and now she is considered absent for that day--something that will impact her employee review and promotion potential.
Speaking of attendance, if you don't have any PTO, they won't let you take off a day without punishing you. It doesn't matter if you are sick, your child is sick, you have blood coming out your eyes--it's all considered an absence, and it will be counted against you.
Speaking of attendance, if you need to use the bathroom, it counts against your break time. Furthermore, since you didn't go during the allowed break time, you are not in compliance with the attendance policy. If I'm a woman and need to use the bathroom to "change things," at certain times of the month, I would be punished for it.
Speaking of attendance, the minions are required to adhere to the attendance policies. Anyone (i.e. supervisors) else isn't. Hypocrisy, anyone?
We're told that there are growth opportunities. I was doing one job for several years, and I decided to take a new opportunity. I really didn't like it, and so I applied to go back to my other job. I cannot even get an interview for the job I was just doing because I'm not qualified. Seriously?
