Day to day duties are awful, call after call with some extremely abusive customers and management would never do anything about it. Extremely strict on lunch breaks (would have people messaging you if you were 10 seconds over a break - no exaggeration. Wouldn’t have contract extended, constantly threatened that you’d lose your job if don’t meet sales targets. It should be flagged as a sales job, not just customer service. Couldn’t get holiday off at all - had to just be given your annual leave on days that worked for the company. Managers were all nice but it’s just a completely toxic environment, toxic work culture where employees are exploited. Looking back, now working in a sane and reasonable work environment, I don’t know how I put up with it so long.

Depending where you work, it can be very hectic for supervisors, smaller stations have less management so they are pulled in every direction. What is work life balance? No such thing when your manager keeps adding on your already busy work day. Union, makes it hard to keep good people due to seniority, always have to jump through hoops to actually get any discipline to even stick… I investigated several employee for big issues with evidence and all they got were a slap on the wrist. This was a waist of my time and effort to keep our business safe.
