Not a place for career growth

Pros

Dell Services growing and hence chances of getting involved on projects. Option of work from home is good and no questioning of why so many wfh.

Cons

growth is through IJP which in most cases are filled up by manager favorite members. Very challenging to get through an IJP for promotion. A lot value on manager's feedback and hence have to admire your boss every time. Those who are good at blind admiration will get a free hand and interfere in your work, eventually taking credits of your work and leading to promotion and salary hike. Not a place for those who have technical inclination. Only for those who either a good sycophants or have an immense patience. Not recommending for people having more than 8+ experience and definitely not for people with 12+. Work load in increasing day by day because they do not reduce the ratio of experienced resource from onsite and hence forcing to include 80% of team of 0-4 yrs exp. Few oldies are involved in their own personal business and they operate from the office premises. They have no concern for any one, neither professionally nor on human grounds and ruining the career of many young aspirants.

Pros

Great pay package offered at joining. 401k match is good. Decent brand value.

Cons

Lots of so-called "Leads". To get promoted show how to get work done from others and in the process avoiding work altogether (which basically interprets to show yourself as lead without leading by example). Hence focus shifts from developing quality product to developing quality impression on Manager and becoming a YES man to manager. In return Manager hides incompetence of these "Leads". Managers and Leads team up to exploit and burden the little number of remaining engineers who do not conform to this culture. This becomes a major issue when an engineer wants to get work done but is stuck in getting rid of bureaucracy. Leads steal credits of fellow engineers and butter up Manager to maintain influence. Incompetency in developing Managers/Directors. Easy to become manager by just by buttering someone in upper management without the skills. A lot of favoritism in mid-level management. No innovation and mostly dependent on external vendors to develop product. Most of the teams are integration teams. Low morale due to frequent layoffs and little to no motivation to work. It is a job that just pays your bills with very little to no pay increases.

Pros

You get to learn the latest technology and if you are lucky you get some good co-workers. Company has solid reporting tools.

Cons

Woefully mismanaged. People are in charge who have no idea about technology or what it really means to run a relationship business. This company takes metrics to a whole new micromanaging level.
