Used to be great

Pros

1. Most colleagues genuinely care about each other 2. Work can be meaningful at times 3. Some managers provide lots of autonomy

Cons

1. Executive leadership (VP and higher) doesn't care about lower-level employees - they say they do, but their actions do not reflect this (constant re-orgs, belittlement, etc.) 2. Lots of politics involved in work life 3. Love to tout work-life balance, but with teams moving to Taiwan, this clearly isn't a priority anymore 4. LOVES to lay off staff who are genuinely good at their jobs, but unproductive workers tend to be retained 5. Internal tools are the WORST to deal with - antiquated and out of date - making it super lengthy to get anything done

RTO policy destroying Work/Life Balance for ALL

Pros

none. Dell has fundamentally hurt every employees morale in 1 swipe of a policy change.

Cons

Those who wanted Hybrid as an option, wanted the option, not the mandatory 39 day badge scan requirement. Those who want remote or have no choice but to go remote are now being punitively hurt for no other reason than where they happen to live. NOT the Dell anyone who has worked for them for a decade recognizes.

Pros

The people I work with are great. Medical Benefits are great. Vacation days and sick days are great.

Cons

Raises are lacking. They aren't keeping up with Actual inflation. They hire new people on at more then what you currently make and still keep people who have been working here for so long at a lower rate instead of increasing the pay to higher then a new hire. Making people choose between Hybrid work and Staying remote. If you stay remote then it could affect your raises or pay or even promotions. They hired people on as remote that live to far from an office to drive to an office. NO compensation to move as prices of real estate are through the room and would make it impossible to move closer.
