      Pros

      I have worked for Dell for 16 years in multiple locations around the world. I have been given fantastic opportunities for advancement and career development along the way which have kept me interested and energized. My management supports and invests in training and travel focused on staying abreast of emerging trends and capabilities. I maintain a very healthy work/life balance by putting boundaries up in my day / week / year that are reserved for personal time.

      Cons

      Yes, there are long hours and high expectations for delivering results - isn't this the case every where?

      Pros

      Good way for the young to get their feet wet in the technology world. More working and learning opportunities than an employee can absorb.

      Cons

      No consistent management. As soon as you get used to one manager, a new one is assigned. Dell does not value mentorship. No manager is ever rewarded for the improvement of progress of an employee. Managers compensation is based on how much productivity they can squeeze out of their direct reports.

      Pros

      Good pay and flexible hours. There was a time when I was happy to work 60 hours a week, but now that my job has deteriorated i enjoy being able to take time off as I like.

      Cons

      The past 3 years has been all downhill. Management would rather force me to leave than work with me and help me grow my skills. It's not really a matter of skill, it's just a matter of being in the in group or not.
