Pros

Big company - decent benefits Although Michael Dell said he is going to cut them so it’s only major medical plan

Cons

Horrible management, nepotism and completely clueless friends who take care of each other for years and force everyone to do their work and say to the team if you don’t like it leave. So many have! No advancement unless you make friends with SMT - and drink and party together

Pros

You can change jobs every 18 months. They have cafeterias in every building, you can order food to your desk, and have fresh robot-made coffee!

Cons

Organization and political complexity. Constant changes! Many of the leaders at VP or higher level only care about themselves at the expense of doing what is right for Dell. Many defy the question “if you were Michael Dell, would you make that decision”. Often times you would answer that question “no way in hell”, so then why are these people wasting money, resources, and employee sanity... poorly aligned incentives and self preservation.

Pros

Still a few talented people left in the VMWare, Pivotal and EMC divisions, despite the legacy Dell presence.

Cons

A PC company executive and senior leadership thinks it can be tech leaders in virtualization, high end storage and cloud native. All flashy show in the internal and external marketing. No substance behind the show. Willing to mis-lead employees about commitment to their growth and well-being. Legacy Dell culture and management will be an albatross around the necks of the company divisions that can innovate and grow. Company is steered by private equity interests, not technical innovation principles.
