Not a bad gig

Pros

Not a bad company to work for- most everyone on my team was fun and energetic. They train you well and are constantly practicing your sales pitch. We were selling memberships to support Georgia Public Broadcasting, which even on a bad day pretty much sells itself (a lot of people have trouble turning down the people who run Sesame Street). If you are persistent and have great sales tactics, you can make upward of $15-20 an hour. You get health insurance after two months and if everyone on the team is meeting and exceeding their sales goals, there bonuses (team outings/dinner/lunches, etc). Management has regular conversation with the team, making sure you feel comfortable with your position and asking what you need to meet/exceed goals. You also have the opportunity to make more if you become a team lead.

Cons

If you are only hitting, not exceeding your sales goals, you just make $10 an hour. But that's fair. Also it's sales so there are people there who come and go a lot, get busted for drugs, etc. so you meet new coworkers and say goodbye to old ones a lot. If you're working on a door to door team, you will be outside rain or shine, so bring an umbrella.

Pros

$11/hour plus bonuses, looks good on a resume

Cons

working in all weather conditions, high expectations for how much money you should raise per day and if you don't meet them you could get in trouble or fired.
