Pros

Opportunity for international relocation: The company does offer a chance for employees to experience living in a different country, which could be an appealing aspect for some.

Cons

Inadequate planning: The company seems to lack foresight in its project planning. This results in an unstable work environment and possible sudden layoffs, as experienced in my case. Low job security: As a project-based company, there's a significant risk involved if there aren't any projects lined up. If you're not assigned a project for more than a month, your job might be in jeopardy. Unpredictable layoffs: The company tends to lay off employees without a fair warning, creating an environment of fear and uncertainty.

Pros

1. Good development related projects to work on. 2. Excellent learning culture with lots and lots of courses, and platforms to grow your skills with. 3. Very pro-active management with employee-centric policies. 4. Lots of events conducted from tech-talks, hackathons to cricket tournaments, CSR etc.

Cons

The management was exceptionally good before covid but after covid a lot of folks at higher level lacks those core EPAM values. No cons as such.

Pros

I have been made redundant by EPAM only 2 months after I joined. No warnings, yellow cards, performance discussions or anything really. Very sudden layoff… They reached out regarding the opportunity in July. I passed all interviews, including the technical interview. In retrospective, the technical interview was a joke but I didn’t think much of it at that time. The guy asked a few general questions and asked to write very basic matrix function that anyone who has been programming for at least a month can do. Apart from initial call with HR that was it in terms of interviews. I was hired… I had 2 holidays booked with my previous employer, one for October and one for Christmas. Both were abroad. Switching jobs in September meant that I got less holiday allowance pro-rata, which is fine, and EPAM agreed to allow me to work abroad so that I don’t have to cancel the holidays but rather work some days instead. That was before I started. When I started they suddenly said that the probation rules don’t allow me to work abroad and I have to either take time off without pay or cancel. I had to take unpaid holiday in October and cancel Christmas trip with my family. All in favour of getting a project and committing to the company. I went to London office on my first day, where they said the capacity is around 3 times lower than the actual number of people working. But it is fine, you can work from home as long as the client is happy. After that there was silence. Absolutely no communication. Logging into Teams and seeing no chats and channels was kind of surreal. My resource manager was not helpful at all.

Cons

You have to have a project when working at EPAM. They say it is not your responsibility to find a project, they assign it to you. However, I didn’t get any simply because there were no projects for UK developers. Absolutely nothing. Non uk projects don’t accept uk developers for cost reasons. I applied for about 30 position myself as well. Most of the time you don’t get feedback. Most of the projects I applied to were not in the UK (like 90% of them) so that is why I didn’t get anything. Me and at least a few other people who started the same time were fired on the same day. All of us got the same generic feedback of “lack of skill, failed to find a billable assignment”. Even though all of us got really good feedback on our “technical” interviews. Right before Christmas and during the month of “Movember”. So much for men’s mental health, right? At least they are going to have a blast on the luxury Christmas party… IT IS A JOKE AND LOOKS LIKE A COMPLETE SCAM TO INFLATE THE NUMBER OF DEVELOPERS IN THE OFFICE FOR STATISTICS AND IMAGE. DONT JOIN EPAM OFFICE IN THE UK, FIND A BETTER AND MORE CARING EMPLOYER They don’t have any projects planned and are simply using people as statistics
