Pros

Edwards Lifesciences offers a competitive salary with great health insurance and bonus programs. They also support employees through a wellness program that emphasizes financial, nutritional, and physical wellness. They offer a wide range of positions ranging from hourly production and documentation associates to director-level and above. Edwards Lifesciences is also focused on making products with the patient in mind, and this is mentioned in most employee meetings. This focus helps everyone see the big picture of the work they do.

Cons

There are few downsides to working at Edwards Lifesciences. One of the main downsides that you'll find at other companies as well is their focus of resources. Certain departments can afford holiday parties at luxury hotels while others make do with pot luck meals. Certain areas receive high praise while others who do work that is just as good don't receive the same recognition. This is something you'll find in any company, though.

Mostly Exceptional.

Pros

Excellent senior leadership that has demonstrated a lot of smarts by getting onboard with TAVI way ahead of the curve and greatly strengthening the company as a whole. Generous with stock grants and the stock purchase program to all employees, so that they really feel like owners. A lot of millionaires next door created due to stock accumulation over the last 10 years.

Cons

The surgical valve sales force is like the lumberjack trying to use an axe when the chainsaw (TAVI) is bring used more and more. Previous high market share with the surgical valves is now being eaten away by competitors with hemodynamically superior valves (Trifecta) and a number of disgruntled surgeons/cardiologists that were also-rans for TAVI site selection using competitive products.

Pros

The campus is nice and continuously improved The products are good and you know you are helping patients every day Co-workers are nice people

Cons

Politics are stifling the company, people get promoted without technical skills, more because the upper management 'likes' them Managers don't know what they are doing and there is no way for them to learn how to improve themselves and develop their employees. Most managers are just looking out for themselves Constant location shuffling of departments - major loss of productivity during each relocation
