Company that looks good from the outside but once you're there, watch out.

Pros

Good Benefits, sometimes they allow you to work from home.

Cons

My experience at Edwards is that the company adheres strongly to old school, traditional methods, which can limit opportunities for any innovation. When employees suggest new ideas or improvements, they encounter significant resistance that can affect career advancement, including missed promotion opportunities and exclusion from key discussions. I observed that even when improvements are initially approved, they make the process of implement the ideas impossible, impacting performance evaluations. Additionally, requests for accommodations or discussions about disabilities that fall outside the standard procedures are not well received. I watched many loyal employees experience this rigid approach which created a high-pressure environment that ultimately encourage talented employees to seek opportunities elsewhere. They're masters at "pushing" employees out and making their work life miserable.

Pros

Strong company purpose and a diverse, impactful product portfolio. Broad scope of business with a focus on a patient-first culture. Solid business performance up until 2024. Comprehensive benefits package and competitive salaries. Focus on talent development with engaging and innovative programs for career growth.

Cons

Hierarchical structure with a strong focus on headquarters, limiting flexibility and local autonomy. Lack of transparent communication, with challenges and setbacks often presented as successes. Some globalization initiatives have been unsuccessful but continue to be portrayed positively. Lack of practical, common-sense approaches in HR Operations. Insufficient oversight and control, leading to inefficiencies and gaps in accountability.

Good but Not Great

Pros

Glitzy campus, just a handful of good people, good for a quick dip in and dip out

Cons

Terrible politics, poorly managed company-wide budget, squeezes employees dry of life, barely pays top talent, knowingly sets employees up for failure, those who have been there for decades (>50%) are smart enough to work the system and not do any meaningful work but not smart enough to bring positive change, these folks see problems growing over decades and are so jaded to do anything about it Not surprised by the exodus taking place
