Pros

Deel's growth and its open-minded, execution-oriented culture make it a great place to learn a lot and advance quickly in your career. Decision-making is not overly bureaucratic, and if you have a good idea, the answer is usually "great! let's do it!" People are collaborative and are on the same page about wanting to get stuff done. If you're looking to join a company where you can look at your past 6 months of work and be proud of everything you've accomplished, Deel is the place for you. If you're a strong performer, you will quickly get recognized and rewarded for it. You'll also have the opportunity to work on super interesting projects if you raise your hand for it. All in all, a pretty great place to learn about how a business works. Plus, the product is awesome and incredibly relevant. Great product market fit.

Cons

I really like my colleagues, and I feel sad that because Deel is entirely remote, I don't have the casual meetups in the kitchen or chatting at each other's desks. You bond faster that way and it leads to more nimble exchanges of ideas. There are a lot of pros to remote work, and I think that Deel has done a really good job at it, but the casual moments of bonding is something that I miss. You have to remind yourself to put in the effort to connect with your colleagues/work friends.

Thank you for your review and for being a part of the operations team at Deel! We understand that remote work can feel isolating for some and with such an amazing team, we totally get that people want to meet in person. We are working on ways to bring people together while remaining thoughtfully frugal.

Pros

- Fully remote - Mostly nice and talented people, you can learn a bunch and the atmosphere is good in the beginning - Once you realize you're not ever getting a raise you can get by doing bare minimum - You can write the ceo on slack and he will respond, which is actually insane considering its such a huge company

Cons

- Everyone is underpaid, even the senior directors. They present employee equity as extra compensation, but make it very difficult to sell shares at secondaries. - Raise/promotion policies are set up in a way where most ppl will never get it. I've seen superstar employees get 2% annual raise. The rest got 1%. - Pay is localized, so you can do the same exact job but get pay half of the compensation if you're not based in the US. - It's either employee contract for less money, and you have some employee rights given to you by your country, or more money but you're getting misclassified on a b2b contract and using vaction days when you get sick. The actual work requirements and responsibilities are the same in both cases. - If you're not drinking the koolaid you better fall in line and keep any opinions challenging the status quo to yourself - Manager can get pretty manipulative, they'll say anything to appease you, but will not act in your interest unless it aligns with their internal politics play
