Pros
There are lots of pros to working in the Civil Service generally. But the Home Office has been the worst department for me.
Cons
Extremely dysfunctional HR processes. Lots of new starters who aren't put on payroll for months. I transferred, agreed a salary and they cut it by 10% a month after I'd started because it was 'outside of policy'.
