Pros

Drove nice cars. Got to learn the details of how a business operates.

Cons

ZERO work life balance when you get into management. 60-70 hour weeks are not uncommon at larger stores during spring and summer. They say you can run it like its your own business-but you cannot. "big brother" is always watching you. Their staffing model is kids just out of college who are okay with being brainwashed and worked like a slave because this is usually their first real job. If you are over 30 DO NOT work here

Pros

Spending 50 hours each week with the other staff you do make good connections. Most of you are the same age and have similar views and interests. Get to drive new cars.

Cons

Contracted to work 50 hours. That's the minimum. Most weeks you'll be working 60 to 70 hours (60 for Trainee, 70 for Assistant). No breaks. Can be working 6-7 days a week with maybe a couple of days off per month. No work life balance. Upper management are a nightmare, everyone is trying to be noticed so they keep changing policies. You input your hours into a timesheet. Management would edit this so you wouldn't get paid overtime. After I was off sick the company began pushing me out. Moved me to a branch 5 times the distance of my previous branch. Was told we were only entitled to 30 minute breaks (from a 10-12 hour shift). Refused to give me reference and didn't give me my P45.

Pros

You will make long-lasting friendships with great people. Looks decent on a resume. Get in, get promoted fast, and get out!!!

Cons

Let me start by saying that before I started at ERAC I read these posts and didn't believe them... I should have listened!!...Expect to work 60+ hours a week. At bare minimum you will work 48-50 hours or you will not get the "salary" amount that you were told. Expect them to have you clean cars in the snow, clean bathrooms, vaccum, etc all while wearing a full suit. Don't expect to get a lunch break even though you will work 11-12 hour long days. Say goodbye to your weekends. Get ready to be treated like crap by customers and upper management alike. Be ready to not have cars for customers, even those who have booked months in advance(at best you will have the wrong car i.e; a small car for someone who needs a large van). Zero opportunity to advance into corporate - very few positions and they rarely will open(unless the person in that position for the past 25 years retires or dies). Old and outdated computer systems that are difficult to work with and break down consistently. Employees are all treated as if they are easily replaceable. You will hit your ceiling within two years at the most. Turn over is ridiculously high and you will see people leaving from the minute you start.
