If you are a pretty switched on or just someone reading through the reviews for enterprise, I think it's pretty obvious to tell which reviews have actually been written honestly by current and former member of the company, compared with the reviews which are quite obviously written by members of the recruitment team in the head offices, who are desperately trying to boost enterprise rent a cars overall rating.
Now a little bit about the actual 'Graduate scheme' itself, basically the business model in a nut shell is to get as many graduates in as possible, paying them an awful wage and working them as hard as possible until they can't do anymore until they quit. Then the company will look for a new set of fresh faced graduates to work until they drop, the cycle is endless it's in the company's benefit because they can pay these graduates terribly for the work they put in. With the promis that when you make it to the branch manager level, you will be making mega bucks - which looking back on it is laughable.
Rather than going in to more detail or writing more paragraphs about the company I will just give you a list of cons I experienced.
- contacted 50hrs a week, in a normal week I would work between 65 and 80hrs.
- The company has a bonus structure, ie you complete certain tasks you would get paid a bonus - I was owed around 2000 pounds when I left the company. They never paid them.
- Terrible salary, when you become a branch manager you can expect to earn about 30k, doesn't sound to bad right? well if your working 65 to 80hrs a week it puts you on around 8 pounds an hour...you would get paid more working as a customer assistant in a super market...Before management I think I was on about 21k doing the same hours...yes that put me one about 6 pounds an hour.
- There is no social responsibility from your upper management, all they care is how much commission they take home.
I could go on here but I will leave it there, I think to conclude the fact enterprise are always recruiting all year round would suggest they have a high drop put rate, which i know they do. So if you are just finishing uni, or you are a Graduate looking for a new role or a different challenge, I would not recommend enterprise. You won't have a life. Companies that only recruit once a year for graduates are probably a better choice as they have less intake and really focus on you and your progession.
