Pros

*Great entry level pay for a cheaper area like Wisconsin *Epic doesn't expect "five to ten years experience in the field" or "full stack developer". They expect you to be smart and work hard and if you do that, they'll give you the skills to be successful. More companies and organizations would be smart to consider that strategy and it gives college graduates desirable technical and project management skills, depending on role *Madison is a great college town, so given that Epic hires young graduates, the vibe is an easy post-college transition *International opportunities are great and only growing as Epic expands internationally (which is the major shift in the past five years) *Company culture is quirky and fun *Great health and financial benefits. Good raises and bonuses

Cons

*Treats international colleagues like second class citizens in regards to pay and benefits *Uses international opportunities for young employees as a means to reduce their pay dramatically (demand to go abroad is high, so they don't see it necessary to compensate more like many companies, but instead reduce compensation) *Work/life balance is insanely tilted to work. Expect to work long, hard hours to earn the money and fun *Perception of employees and employee trust is so low. Weird rule that disallows drinking with customers and even with colleagues sometimes even hurts relationships. *Strict adherence to all policies with no wiggle room (every policy is law, because making exceptions would be a slippery slope) is understandable, but regrettable in some situations and incredulously stupid in others. *They will make you feel replaceable regardless of your tenure or status. *TS and EDI will get lower bonuses and raises compared with IS colleagues for equivalent or higher quality/higher volume work
