Pros

Nice corporate working environment. Good salaries. Challenging projects.

Cons

Indian engineering manager clearly in favor of Indian employees only. Would work away anyone else first (except if their skills sets were completely unique) when it comes to lay-off time. Lots of company politics. Job security very low and very project dependent.

Pros

Ericsson has one of the best benefit packages compared to any industry. The company does a good job in establishing a multi-year vision, but keep in mind that the vision is for the company, not for the employees. The people working in Ericsson (US and Sweden) in the internal organizations are some of the best!

Cons

The customer units (aka sales teams) are some of the worst I have dealt with in 20+ years in the telecom industry. They do not care to follow any process which makes operations' job very difficult. The project management office leadership wants PM's to be strong, but Ericsson's own processes and the fact that the customer units are at the top of the decision tree force the PM into a conflicting and weaker position. Ericsson C-level management in the US are pushing PM's and operations into more of a sales-oriented mindset, though this conflicts with global processes and the customer units won't loosen their grip on the customer relationships.
