Pros

Very competitive salary Life - work balance Can be a great learning experience

Cons

Need to negotiate salary with recruiting company otherwise they can take up to 50% of what they are paid for the position. Beaurocracy is a big part of your job. Very little autonomy as an external. Very little responsibilities as an external. IT support staff always seems to be overwhelmed with tasks and underappreciated (and fired very easily).

Boring but great money

Pros

Commission pays good money for established officials. Other benefits are plentiful as well.

Cons

Boring office work, lots of paper pushing and coordinating. Lots of long, boring, unproductive, and pointless meetings. Not for everyone. Skillset attained not very attractive for the private sector unless dealing with EU affairs.
