It's meaningful to work for the good of the European project.

Cons

Very bureaucratic, lack of trust, respect and consideration, meritocracy doesn't exist.

Pros

- salary - working for Europe - international environment

Cons

- people are overworked - resources are being cut - very limited opportunities for young people - onboarding is insufficient or doesn't happen - people are ill-matched to their positions - managers partly not trained and it shows - you can only become a manager late in your career (50s) - getting a good contract depends on passing a badly organised and sometimes ridiculous concours/selection procedures - there's a gap between established officials on a indefinite contract and young people who are in temporary contracts - many people suffer from burnout - others check out and stop caring
