Pros

Great advancement in career Opportunities. You can start at the very bottom and work your way to management in about 2-3 years. There is a variety of options at FedEx Express in both lower level jobs and in management in different divisions. Some management positions have varying work hours and some are pretty stable. No matter which shift or divisions you work, you will need to be flexible with your end work time, that's the business. Attendance is very important so if you are someone who likes a lot of time off, this job is not for you!! Dedication and organization is also very important since you are usually multitasking most of your day.

Cons

Salary differences with slightly lower pay for women in management

Pros

Promotion from within and solid benefits for working part time or full time. Any one can be promoted as high as Director or above if they have the right attitude and don't mind moving around the country. A degree is still not required to be promoted to Operations Manager, that opens the door far and wide to most anyone.

Cons

Bad senior managers can't move to escape being possibly terminated so they are stuck at current stations to make life terrible for operators and hourly employees. Sometimes Directors are brought in just to fill a quota and are not qualified to lead a district. The district fails because of quotas and not having stringent guidelines for promotion to Director level.

Pros

You can direct your career in the direction you would like. You can start with FedEx as a Package Handle and become a Operation Manager in a period of 2 -3 years without a college degree. If you decided not to go to college you can work your way to Senior Management at FedEx without a college degree with good people skills and hard work. GREAT BENIFITS!

Cons

FedEx management it is very political. Progressing through the management ranks can be about who you know and if the right people like you. If the right people dont like you, your career is at a dead end. You have to hire into the company PART-TIME. This is a good place to start while in college.
