Pros

Incredible growth opportunity. I was hired as a seasonal ops admin (part time) in October 2014, promoted to operations administrator 1(part time) in December 2014, and promoted to full time operations administrator 2-3 in May of 2015. It is now December 2015 and I am about to interview for a full time operations manager position in a terminal out of state. I had no prior experience before Fedex, and was hired on without being a package handler first.

Cons

My terminal has a lot of favoritism and it creates a hostile work environment. There are managers that are rude and demeaning, but nobody ever tells HR about the issues, so nothing gets solved. HR IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. THEY WILL HELP YOU. Trust me, if you're having any issues with being treated unfairly or someone who has a higher position than you treating you badly, you need to report it to HR. You will not get punished, if anything you will be rewarded for bringing forth the information. This applies to everyone- even package handlers! If you respect your managers but they don't respect you- or they make you feel bad about yourself or assert their authority and make you feel insignificant- you need to report it.

Pros

Started at 11.76/hr with increases at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. We've even had an across the board raise for all package handlers since I've been here. Impressive benefits earned in a short amount of time. Management is flexible with days time off at my station. You can actually make a living here without a degree. If you work hard you can be promoted quickly.

Cons

It can be back-breaking work. It will wear on your body if you aren't young/somewhat fit. There are rough days where we get more packages than expected. The boxes seem to never stop coming but if you keep your head up and you and your co-workers can work well together, you can keep it fun even when things get rough.

Pros

Decent benefits, good customer service

Cons

No longer focused on employees. Now focused on profit, profit, profit.
